Hunters are judged on movement, way of going, manners, and jumping form. Smooth, quiet-moving, well-built horses with an excellent temperament are desired. Good manners, performance, quality and conformation are important. Hunters are shown over fences no greater than 4′ in height and are expected to display a cadence and elegance that is not necessary in show jumping.
